Ulrich, 79, of Luther Lane, Columbia, Pa., formerly of Lebanon, died Thursday, November 20, 2008, in the Lancaster Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Anna E. Lucas Ulrich. He as born in Lebanon April 23, 1929, son of the late Penrose and Carrie M. Tobias Ulrich. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He was a member of St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lebanon. Richard retired form the Bethlehem Steel Corp., Lebanon, after 20 years of service, and was formerly the grounds keeper at Camp Kirchenwald, Colebrook. He also was the former co-owner of Limestone Springs Fishing Preserve, Richland. Richard was an avid deer hunter, fisherman, and loved gardening, particularly tomatoes. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Alice M., and husband Jack Beaman of York; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Matthews Lutheran Evangelical Church, 534 E. Lehman St., Lebanon, PA 17046, where a viewing will be held beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his church. The Rohland Funeral Home, Lebanon, handled the arrangements.
