Valentino, 81, formerly of Reading entered into rest at Conestoga View, Lancaster, on Monday, August 18, 2008. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late John Valentino. He was the husband of the late Fannie E. (Lykens) Valentino, who passed away on July 26, 2002. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Reading. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Rudy is survived by three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ann Lykens and Mary E. Lykens Leister, both of Ephrata, and June Ellen Lykens, wife of the Rev. W. Frank Lantz of Lancaster; a brother-inlaw, John Paul, husband of Doris Lykens of Reading; and a stepdaughter, the Rev. Eileen E. Weglarz of Mt. Cisco, N.Y. A graveside service will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township, on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at 12:30 p.m. Departure for the cemetery will be promptly at 11 a.m. from the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. Ninth Street, Akron, Pa. Arrangements by Stradling Funeral Homes, Akron/Ephrata.
