"Motts" Waldensberger, 94, of Lebanon died Tuesday January 29, 2008 in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was born in Lebanon on February 28, 1913. He was the son of the late John and Laura Stettner Waldensberger. Mr. Waldensberger formerly worked for Berkshire Full Fashioned Knitting in Reading but retired as a maintenance mechanic from the Lebanon Steel Foundry. An avid sportsman, "Motts" loved to fish for trout in the Tulpehocken Creek and hunt for white tail deer in the northern part of Lebanon County. In his later years, he could also be seen fishing for bass and taking walks around Stovers Dam. He especially liked the spring and summer seasons when he could sit on the patio and listen to the Philadelphia Phillies or work in the backyard. "Motts" was married to the former Mary V. Devine, for 65 years. She preceded him in death September 23, 2004. He was also preceded by brothers Joseph and John. Surviving is his son, Martin D. Waldensberger and his companion, Ruth Patton of Annville; his granddaughter, Rita Waldensberger and great grandson, Jacob Adorno of Lebanon; his sister, Elsie Zahorec of Lebanon; and several nieces & nephews. "Motts" was also lucky to have friends and neighbors who were very helpful to him in his everyday life. He was a member of The Church of St. Cecilia. Mass of Christian burial Monday at 10:00 from The Church of St. Cecilia 202 E. Lehman St. Lebanon 17046. Interment will be on St. Gertrude's Cemetery. Viewing hours will be Monday morning 8:30-9:30 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. 126 S. 9th St. Lebanon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Cecilia's Church.
