  Frederick J. Wentzel, 72, of 9 Fernbrook Circle, Lancaster, passed away May 21, 
  2008, at Hospice of Lancaster County, after a courageous 19-month battle with 
  pancreatic cancer. Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late John G. and Mary 
  E. Wentzel. After graduating from Lebanon High School, he enlisted in the U.S. 
  Navy. He served aboard the USS Samuel B. Roberts during the Korean Conflict. He 
  retired from Lancaster Electric, formerly Kroll Electric. He enjoyed fishing 
  and hunting, and was a member of the Decatur Sportsmen's Association of Mifflin 
  County. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Edith Ulrich Wentzel; six 
  children, Luann L. Bucks of Bird-in-Hand, Darlene J., wife of Larry Dommel of 
  Leola, Linda C. Leedom of Lancaster, Frederick P. Wentzel of Marco Island, 
  Florida, and Steven S. Wentzel, husband of Ronda (Riley), Robert Beck, husband 
  of Lee Beck of Lancaster; 12 grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; two 
  sisters, Jean Centini of Annville, Betsy, wife of Bruce Jonovich of Lebanon; 
  and a brother, Robert, husband of Patti Wentzel, Elizabethtown; one uncle, 
  Harry James of Forest Hill, Maryland; and by his beloved dogs, Sophie and 
  Mindy. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. 
  In lieu of flowers, if desired, contributions can be made to Delaware Valley 
  Golden Retriever Rescue, 60 Vera Cruz Road, Reinholds, PA 17569. Furman Home 
  for Funerals, Leola.
