Paul Francis Williams, 86, of North Bayard Avenue, Waynesboro, Va., died Thursday, March 27, 2008, at his home. He was born August 18, 1921, in Mt. Sidney, Va., a son of Miley and Ruth Emma Shaver Williams. He graduated from Bethel High School in 1941. He was a member of Glovier United Methodist Church, VFW Post 2424, and American Legion Post 340. Paul retired from the U.S. Army after 23 years, having served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, after which he worked at Crompton-Shenandoah for several years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Verlie Marion Williams; two sons, George Dana and Paul Benson Williams; and six brothers, Howard, Roy, Ward, Frank, Glen, and John Williams. Surviving are his wife, Margaret W. Williams of Waynesboro; three sons, Clement Kevin Williams and his wife Tina of Waynesboro, Gregory Allen Williams of Bronx, New York, and James E. Woolford and his wife Catherine Gahres of Arlington, Va.; a sister, June Napp of Bethel; twin brothers, Lawrence Williams of Dayton, Va., and Lester Williams of Clermont, Florida; five grandchildren, Danielle and Kelsey Williams, Elizabeth Woolford, Charlotte Hughes, and Sage Williams; two great- grandsons, Alex Osborne and J.R.
