Went home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2008, after a brief illness. Born in Lebanon on Jan. 31, 1913, the son of William F. and Kathryn Landis Womer. A graduate of Lebanon High School Class of 1930, the Lebanon Valley College and Rutgers University in banking. An active member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Edith J. Zimmerman Womer, on Sept. 15, 2005; his sister, Kathryn Womer Rudy; and his brothers, William Franklin (Frank) and Walter Womer. He is survived by his children, Robert, Patricia (Dimm), and Daniel Womer. His grandchildren include Laura Miller and her children Jon Scott and Susan, Susan Atkinson and her children Shealeigh and Mycaeri, and Heather Bronson and her children Jonathan River and Landis. In addition, he leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces. His extended family includes his daughters- in-law Bessie and Lynn Womer; and his sister-inlaw, Muriel Womer. Susan Atkinson and husband Frank provided loving care, along with his niece Kitty Rudy Fair and her husband Elmer. He was devoted to his family, church and the community of Lebanon as a whole. He spent his entire career as an officer and CEO of Lebanon County Trust, now Wachovia Bank at Eighth and Cumberland streets. He had received many awards in his life time from many organizations. He coauthored with his brother-in-law Richard Zimmerman, a series of six books on banking, which are still being used in colleges and universities. Up until his death at age 95, he served on numerous boards and committees of the region and state. Some of these included the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon Kiwanis Club, Lebanon Country Club and the "Coffee Club." He was patriarch of the family and the extended family, and always provided advice and help through these many years. The family invites his friends to gather with them at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, for a service of celebration for his life and faith at Trinity United Methodist Church, Eighth and Willow streets, Lebanon, PA 17046. In Lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church. Interment will be private at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
