  Franklin Yiengst LEBANON Franklin Yiengst, 90, of 1822 S. Fifth Ave., Lebanon, 
  died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, in Cedar Haven. He was born September 19, 1917, 
  in Myerstown, a son of the late Frank and Emma Bisson Yiengst. He was a member 
  of Zion "Goshert's" United Church of Christ, Mt. Zion. He was a U.S. Navy 
  veteran of World War II. He was a retired truck driver from the former Quaker 
  Alloy Casting Co., Myerstown. He was a life member of the senior center and 
  Goodwill Fire Co., Myerstown. He had been the crossing guard at the South 
  Lebanon Elementary School for 14 years, and was a member of the South Lebanon 
  Fire Police. He twice received the Fire Policeman of the Year, and was one of 
  the first to be able to coordinate the landing zone for the LifeLion Emergency 
  Helicopter. Surviving are wife Marguerite V. Peffley Yiengst of Lebanon; 
  daughter Elizabeth Weidman of Lebanon; step-children Dennis Williams, Ronald 
  Williams and Annamarie Daub; sister Arlene Miller of Myerstown; three 
  grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; three great-greatgrandchildren; six 
  stepgrandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death 
  by wife Alberta J. Billingham Yiengst on April 3, 1976, son Harold "Ace" 
  Yiengst and four brothers. Viewing is scheduled for Friday, March 28, 2008, 
  from 12-2 p.m. at Christman's Funeral Home Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon 
  followed by services at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Ebenezer "Greenwood" 
  Cemetery.
