  Arline M. Akens Arline M. Akens, 88, of Spang Crest Manor, Lebanon, died 
  Thursday, July 16, 2009, in the home. Born September 16, 1920, in Reading, she 
  was the daughter of the late Clarence D. and Elsie A. (Dunkleberger) Deppen. 
  Retiring as an educator from the Conrad Weiser Elementary School in 
  Wernersville, she was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 
  Annville. She was the widow of Deak Akens. Surviving are her son Gary Shrawder 
  of Lebanon; step son George Akens of Mechanicsburg and step daughter Anne Russo 
  of Harrisburg; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Memorial services 
  will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 3, 2009, at Spang Crest Manor Chapel, 945 
  Duke Street, Lebanon. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in 
  Hains Cemetery, Wernersville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be 
  made to Caron Treatment Centers, Attention: Development Office, P. O. Box 150, 
  Wernersville, PA 19565.
