Andrew LEBANON Virginia Lee Burgess Andrew joined the saints on Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Born in Wayne West Virginia in 1920, she was the daughter of Leora Zona Charlotte and George Morgan Burgess. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Batchelor's degree in Education. Throughout her life, she was active in church and community activities. She served as a Deacon at St. Andrews' Presbyterian Church in Lebanon as well as at Sunset Hills Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh. She was an early Director of the Senior Center and an avid participant in Dance Club and various bridge clubs. She traveled extensively with her late husband, Ronald, living three years in Swansea, Wales and accompanying him on several foreign postings with International Executive Service Corps. She was an enthusiastic cook, a keen investment strategist, and had a continuous love of learning but she took her greatest pride and happiness in her family. She was most often described as feisty, a firecracker, opinionated, an inspiration and an 89 year old energizer bunny. She is survived by, her children, Penelope Samuelson (Craig) and Winifred Andrew (Harry); three grandchildren, Cheryl Lea, Lee Samuelson, and Benta Samuelson; one greatgrandson; Cooper Blaklea, her sister, Malinda Ann Adkins (Brainard) and a whole boatload of friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church 600 S. 12th St., Lebanon, on Monday, November 2, 2009. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a celebration of her life at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, 1031 Guilford St., Lebanon, PA 17042; Lebanon Co. Christian Ministries Food Bank, 250 S. 7th St., Lebanon, PA 17042; or the church of your choice.
