  John E. Arnold Jr. went home to be with the Lord on January 12, 2009, in the 
  Good Samaritan Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was 51 years old 
  and stricken with ALS 2 1/2 years ago. Born in Lebanon on March 8, 1957, he was 
  the son of John E. "Jack" Sr. and Glenda H. Hummel Arnold, with whom he resided 
  with at 732 Walnut St. He was very active in the "NA" circles for more than 29 
  years, and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of St. Mary's Church. Surviving 
  in addition to his parents are two brothers, Michael A. Arnold of Lebanon and 
  Paul H. Arnold at home; two nephews, whom he loved very much, Cameron and 
  Franklin Arnold; numerous aunts; uncles; cousins; many friends; and his two 
  constant loving feline companions, Hannah and Jon-Jon. Funeral services on 
  Friday at 9:30 from Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 126 S. Ninth St., Lebanon. 
  Interment Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing hours Friday morning 8:30-
  9:30 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ALS 
  Association Development Department, 27001 Agoura Road, Suite 250, Calabasas 
  Hills, CA 91301.
