Arnold, 73, died Sunday, December 20, 2009, in his residence. He was the husband of Mary E. Rank Arnold, with whom he was married to for 53 years. He was born in Lebanon on August 14, 1936, a son of the late Howard H. and Mabel E. Allwein Arnold. Robert was a retired 30 year Met-Ed employee and also owned the Double A Riding Stables in Fredericksburg. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Road Church of the Brethren and the Bologna Stompers Hiking Club. He was a 4-H Leader; Northern Lebanon Band Parent and a 1954 graduate of the Lebanon High School. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children, Robert J. Arnold, Jr. and wife, Robin, OK; Dale F. Arnold and wife, Pamela, Ono; Kathy S., wife of David Martin and Fay M., wife of Clifford Berger, both of Fredericksburg; grandchildren, Daniel Martin, Leanne Martin, Brian Berger, Robert Arnold III, Laura Martin, Trevor Arnold, Kasey Arnold, Tracy Berger, Travis Berger, Thea Arnold and Dustin Arnold; great- grandchildren, Robert 'Allen' Arnold, Rachael Arnold and Bryce Martin. Also surviving are sisters, Sara Ann Arnold, Richland, Catherine Parisi, Longport, New Jersey; sisters, Agnes Leona, Flourtown, Rose Felty, Ocean City, Md., and Geraldine Peifer, Schwenksville; brothers, Francis Emas, Philadelphia, Howard Arnold Jr. and wife, Jackie, Lebanon, and Joseph Arnold and wife, Margaret, Lebanon. He was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Allwein, Mary Arnold, Gertrude Trompeter, Regina Combs; brothers, William Arnold and Raymond Arnold. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Zion Road Church of the Brethren, 2087 Mt. Zion Road, Lebanon, PA 17046. Interment will be made in the Kochenderfer's Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and also on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service ALL AT THE CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the 'Building Fund' of his church. Rohland Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
