Arlene K. Bare, 80, of Richland, Pa., died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading, Pa., after injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Jefferson Twp., Berks Co. on June 22, 2009, in which her husband Herbert A. Bare died. Born in Tulpehocken Twp., Pa., on October 10, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Ralph I. and Sallie E. (Wartluft) Moyer. She had been employed at Crescent Plastics, Myerstown, for 10 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of St. John's "Host" Church, Bernville, Pa.; a lifetime member of the Marion Grange, Stouchsburg and a lifetime member of the Mt. Zion & Rehrersburg Fire Companies. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, quilting, crocheting and reading. She is survived by daughters Sallie, wife of Warren Leask of Wiscasset, Maine, Susan, wife of Larry Rittle, Sr. of Myerstown; sons Ralph, husband of Anita Bare of Jonestown, and Charles, husband of Eileen Kauffman of Bethel; 8 grandchildren; 26 greatgrandchildren; sister Lillian, wife of Lloyd Rittle of Fredericksburg; brothers Leon, husband of Annie Moyer of Hamburg, George Moyer of Richland, and Glenn, husband of Linda Moyer of Richland; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Kauffman, and sisters Grace Achey, Pearl and Mabel Moyer. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at 11 a.m. from St. John's "Host" Church, Bernville, Pa. There will be no viewing. Family will receive friends Monday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, Pa., and Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's "Host" Church, 36 Host Church Road, Bernville, Pa. 19506.
