Bell, 82, passed away at ManorCare in Lebanon on Friday, September 4, 2009. He was born Friday, June, 10, 1927, in South Lebanon, to the late William O. Bell and Carrie M. (Schaeffer) Bell. He leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Joyce E. (Smith) Bell. He was a lifelong farmer, retired from CleaverBrooks, and was a member of Rocherty United Methodist Church. He was an avid Hershey Bears fan, enjoying many games with his grandson, Jonathan, Jr. by his side. His love for Jesus Christ and his family were of the utmost importance. He is survived by a daughter, Linda Hoshower and her husband, Leon of Athens, Ohio; two sons, Leon, Jr. and his wife, Cynthia of Indianapolis, Ind., and Jonathan and his wife, Stephanie of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, Jason and Lisa Hoshower of Athens, Michael and wife, Lara, and Mark of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Ryan of Indianapolis, Ind., and Melissa Ginther and husband, David, and Jonathan, Jr., both of Lebanon; three greatgrandchildren, Eve Ginther, Ava Bell, and Jarred Rinehold; a brother, Marlin S. Bell and wife, Louise of Campbelltown; and a sisterin-law, Mary of Cornwall Manor. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilmer and LeRoy; and a sister-in-law, Shirley. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, with Pastors John Hunt and Richard Hostetter officiating. Friends and family are invited for a time of viewing from 1 p.m. until time of the service. Burial will follow in the Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery, Campbelltown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rocherty United Methodist Church, 255 Village Drive, Lebanon, PA 17042.
