  Bliss, Malcolm Mitchell   
   
  Malcolm Mitchell Bliss, age 84, died on February 24th at the Good Samaritan 
  Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born on June 7, l924, in Syracuse, New 
  York. He was the son of the late Louise Stone Bliss and Graydon Calvin Bliss, 
  and the husband of Dorothy Papworth Bliss, to whom he was married for 62 years. 
  Malcolm is survived by children Malcolm Jr., husband of Judith Thorman 
  (Arlington, Va.), Patricia (Syracuse, N.Y.), Barbara Charles, wife of Bradford 
  Charles, and Martha Gelgot, wife of William Gelgot (Lebanon), and Deidre 
  (Chester Springs). Also surviving are grandchildren Nathan, Dana and Jordan 
  Charles, Eliza and Meghan Bliss-Moreau, Emily and David Zochol; step-grandchild 
  Lily Shapiro-Zochol, and William, Caroline and Caitlyn Gelgot. He was preceded 
  in death by brothers Calvin and Charles, and daughter Mary Louise Zochol. He 
  was an Eagle Scout, and a graduate of Syracuse University's College of 
  Engineering. He also served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. After graduation 
  in 1950, he was employed with Bethlehem Steel in various positions, until his 
  retirement in 1982. He was a long-time member of St. Andrews Presbyterian 
  Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, an elder, and a trustee. He 
  was active as treasurer of the Myerstown Library, served on the Myerstown Water 
  Authority, was president of the Visiting Nurses Association of Lebanon, and was 
  an avid bridge player, often teaching classes at the Myerstown Library. In lieu 
  of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Myerstown or Lebanon 
  community libraries.
