  Gladys H. Books, 84, Cleona, died Thursday, May 14, 2009, in the Good Samaritan 
  Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of Curtis A. Books to whom she was married 
  for 59 years. Born in Maytown on October 19, 1924, she was the daughter of the 
  late John H. and Ruth E. Hess Hoffman. Prior to her 46 years as a caregiver to 
  her daughter Doreen, she worked at Sowers Printing and Continental Press. 
  Gladys attended Immanuel United Methodist Church, Cleona, and enjoyed using her 
  personal computer. Surviving in addition to her husband is a son Robert Books 
  of Hoboken, N.J., and a daughter Doreen Books, at home. Also surviving are a 
  sister, Velma Light, and a brother, John H. Hoffman, both of Messiah Village, 
  Mechanicsburg. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clair and Dr. Glenn 
  Hoffman. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM from the 
  Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will 
  be in Fairland Brethren In Christ Cemetery, Cleona.Viewing will be held on 
  Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM and also prior to the service at the funeral home. 
  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Paxton Ministries, 2001 Paxton 
  St., Harrisburg, PA 171111093.
