Bowman, 86, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 7, 2009, surrounded by family members. She was the wife of Herbert M. Bowman, her husband of 62 years. Born on December 6, 1922, in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mildred Feeser Blouch. She and her husband owned and operated Bowman's Food Market on Sand Hill Road in North Lebanon for almost 30 years. She previously worked in the garment industry in Lebanon and also for the H.L. Green's store in downtown Lebanon. She was a lifelong member of Covenant United Methodist Church and its predecessor, Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church, in Lebanon. Her interests included collecting crafts and spending time with her immediate and extended family members. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, daughter Karen, wife of Larry Schwalm of Lebanon, son Larry, husband of Kathleen Wall of Mount Gretna, and daughter Kelly, wife of Daniel Long of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Lynn Schwalm Barnes of Sussex, N.J., James Schwalm of Enola, Alexis Bowman of Avondale, and Samuel Bowman of Mount Gretna; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Jones and Ryan Barnes of Sussex, N.J.; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and their spouses; many nieces, nephews, and their families; several stepbrothers and their families; and close family friend and caregiver, Paul Deitzler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin; stepfather, William Watts; and a sister, June Bowman. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, with the Rev. Dr. Daniel G. Herner officiating. Friends and family are invited for a time of visitation on Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lebanon County Christian Ministries, 250 S. 7th St., Lebanon, PA 17042; or to Covenant United Methodist Church, 346 N. 9th St., Lebanon, PA 17046.
