"Peanuts" Harold C. "Peanuts" Brandt, 80, of 1103 Elm St., Lebanon, died on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of Marian A. Umberger Brandt. He was born in Lebanon on April 1, 1928, son of the late Samuel and Edna Snyder Brandt. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Sowers Printing Co., Lebanon, as an offset pressman with over 35 years of service. Harold was a member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lebanon, where he was active in the Men's Bible Class, Lutheran Brotherhood, and the bowling team. He was a 1946 graduate of Lebanon High School, and a member of the Liberty Fire Co. Marching Club. "Peanuts" was a sports fanatic, who enjoyed the Phillies and the Eagles. He also played semi- pro baseball locally. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Denise, wife of Richard Rhoade; sons Gary L. Brandt and wife Dawn, Barry L. Brandt and wife Marie, Corey H. Brandt; grandchildren Andrew Rhoade and wife Deanna, Katie, Christopher, Jared and Alison Brandt; greatgrandchildren Gavin and Trevor Rhoade, all of Lebanon; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jennifer Rhoade; and his brother, Russell G. Brandt. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 723 Lehman St., Lebanon, PA 17046, where a viewing will be held beginning at 4 p.m. A viewing will also be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, Fifth and Cumberland streets, Lebanon. Private interment will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his church.
