She was the loving wife of the late Walter C. Campbell, who died in 1996. Born in Falmouth, Pa., on May 26, 1929, she was the daughter of late Edna Carpenter Rutherford and George W. Rutherford. She was an elementary school teacher for 12 years in the Lebanon City Schools and co-owner with her husband of Campbell's Exxon Station, Lebanon. Lillian was a graduate of Bainbridge and Elizabethtown High Schools and Elizabethtown College, a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Lebanon, and the Lebanon VFW Post 23 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially caring for her great-great-niece and her great- great-nephews. Surviving is a sister Edna Sheckart of Columbia, PA; many nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews, and a greatgreat-niece and greatgreat-nephews. At her request, graveside services and interment will be held on Friday, July 3, 2009, at 1:30 PM from Falmouth Cemetery, Falmouth, PA, Lancaster County. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
