  Elwood P. Cassel LANCASTER Elwood P. Cassel, 78, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 
  at the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra. Born October 24, 1930, in 
  Hershey, he was a son of the late John N. and Elsie (Cromas) Cassel. He retired 
  from Thaddeus Stevens Trade School, Lancaster, was a member of Palm Lutheran 
  Church Palmyra, and was a 1949 graduate of Hershey High School and later Penn 
  State University. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the 
  AmVets and Shellsville VFW Post 9639. Surviving are his son, Edward D. Cassel 
  of Harrisburg; daughters, Deborah E., wife of Bill Turnbach of Phoenixville, 
  and Jane E., wife of Glenn Snover of Palmyra; sister, Eva Evelhoch of 
  Harrisburg; and grandchildren, Ryan Cassel, Alexander Cassel, Elise Turnbach, 
  Mark, husband of Elizabeth Snover, and Sherry Snover. Funeral services will be 
  held 11 a.m. Saturday at Palm Lutheran Church, 11 W. Cherry St., Palmyra, 
  preceded by a viewing from 10 a.m.. Burial with military honors will be held at 
  Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at the convenience of the family. 
  Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia 
  Chapter, 321 Norristown Road, Ambler, PA 19002.
