Joseph V. Centini, 77, of Spang Crest Manor, Lebanon, died there February 5, 2009. He was the husband of the late Sarah E. "Sally" Boger Centini, who died in 1987. Born in Myerstown on November 25, 1931, he was the son of the late Rinaldo and Sara Miller Centini. He was a selfemployed car dealer and a very successful horse trainer at Penn National Race Course, where he had 110 wins. Joe was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Korea, serving with the OSS at Rheinmain Air Force Base, Germany. He was a 1949 graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School, a member of St. Paul The Apostle Church, Annville, Father Michael Barrett Knights of Columbus Council No. 9875, and the Horseman's Benevolent Protection Association. Surviving are three sons, Joseph B. and wife Virginia Centini of Lebanon, Randolph J. and wife Beverly Centini of Annville, and Michael D. and wife Karen Centini of Lebanon; a daughter, Kathleen M. Bomberger of Rexmont and fianc" Walter S. Frankowski Jr. of Reading; a brother, Raymond "Tom" Centini of Lebanon; and a sister, Jean, wife of Joseph Rowe of St. Joseph, Illinois; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister, Palma Heffner. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from St. Paul The Apostle Church, 125 S. Spruce Street, Annville. Interment will be in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Lebanon, with military honors. Viewing will be held on Monday evening from 79 p.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
