She completed her earthly journey on Thursday, February 5, 2009, at the M.S Hershey Medical Center. Lucille Collins was the eldest daughter of Russell Coble Myers, a native of Middletown, and Stella May (Strack) Myers, a descendant of a pioneer family who settled in and around Heidelberg Township in the 18th century. She was born in the Shirk homestead at 532 North Eighth Street, Lebanon, but spent her fortnative years in Cleona. She was a 1938 graduate of Lebanon High School. Mrs. Collins was retired from Saylor's Pharmacy, Lebanon, where she served as bookkeeper for several decades, and from the Lebanon office of H & R Block, where she was a processor. Within the Lebanon community. Mrs. Collins was a member of St. John's Reformed Congregation of the United Church of Christ for 68 years, and was formerly active in the church's St. John's Guild. She held membership in the Historic Preservation Trust of Lebanon County, and was a life member of the Friends of the Chestnut Street Log House, a trust project. Mrs. Collins especially enjoyed her visits to Mt. Gretna, and attended a variety of musical programs there. Lucille Collins was the widow of Merritt John Collins, to whom she was wife and helpmeet for 53 years. Mr. Collins died in 1993. Of this union, there are two children, Gerald A. Collins of Lebanon and Mt. Gretna, and Peggy J. (Collins) Seibert of Mt. Gretna. In addition to her children, she is survived by a grandson, Spencer Collins Seibert of Annapolis, Maryland; and the following siblings - a brother, Donald Russell Myers, husband of Marilyn (Furrier) Myers of Enid, Oklahoma; sisters Eleanor Marie, wife of Joseph G.D. Magazino of Santa Maria, California, Doris Louise, wife of William G. Yates II of Merritt lsland, Florida; and Janet Lorraine, wife of Robert H. Trautman of Lebanon. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Ruth Collins Barry of Palm Coast Florida; and a brother-in-law, Wayne A. Muldoon of Palmyra. Mrs. Collins will also be sorely missed by her cousins and a host of nephews and nieces, and lifelong friends. Services in celebration of the life of Lucille Jeanette (Myers) Collins will be held at the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Curnberiand Street, Lebanon, on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, 235 Maple Street, Lebanon. Prior to the service, visitation will be honored beginning at 9:30 a.m. Memorials will be appreciated to St. John's United Church of Christ, 925-931 Willow Street, Lebanon, PA 17046, and earmarked for the Stained Glass Window Fund. The window fund is used for the ongoing restoration of the Belcher mosaic stained glass windows in the church sanctuary. The family thanks you for your support.
