  Darkes, Vista Elethia   
   
  Vista Elethia Darkes, 92, of Spang Crest Manor, Lebanon, formerly of Mountville 
  Drive, died Friday, January 30, 2009, in Spang Crest Manor. She was born 
  December 1, 1916, in Lebanon, daughter of the late Charles David and Roberta 
  Estelle Brugh Hostetter. She was a member of Zoar Evangelical Lutheran Church 
  and the Willing Workers. She had been a nurse's aide at the Lebanon VA Medical 
  Center and a member of the Lebanon Flower Club. Surviving are children: Dale L. 
  Darkes of Camp Hill, Diane R. Darkes of Lebanon, and Deborah Kern, spouse of 
  Frank Kern of Pine Grove; sisters Pauline Royer of Palmyra and Christine 
  Troutman of Myerstown; grandchildren Jason Kern, Justin, spouse of Tommi Kern, 
  and Erin Kern-Phillips; greatgrandchildren Ryan Phillips, Saoirse Phillips and 
  Brogan Kern. She was preceded in death by husband Leo Wilson Darkes on 
  01/02/2005; son Dean David Darkes on 09/05/1976; sisters Muriel Horst and 
  Louise Schaeffer; brothers Roy Hostetter, Sterling C. Hostetter and Paul 
  Hostetter. Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, February 5, 2009, from 6-8 PM at 
  Christman's Funeral Home Inc., 226 Cumberland St., Lebanon. Services on Friday 
  at 11 AM in Zoar Lutheran Church 560 Freeport Rd., Lebanon, PA 170-46 preceded 
  by viewing from 10-11 AM. Burial will be at Zion "Goshert's" UCC Cemetery. 
  Memorials can be sent to her church.
