Aldo P. DeCarlo, 84, of Hershey died Thursday, May 7, 2009, in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Born October 25, 1924, in Hershey, he was the son of the late Filippo and Josephine (Mastromatteo) DiCarlo. Aldo was the owner/operator of the former DeCarlo's Restaurant in Hershey; was a WWII Army veteran; a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey; and a lifetime member of the Hershey Italian Lodge. Surviving are two daughters, Linda M. Pellegrini and Atonoinette Grant, both of Palmyra; two sisters, Anita Bitts of Lancaster and Mary Tatangelo of Hershey; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary (Degnen) and Ardelle (Sipe), and a son, Philip A. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at 11:00 AM in the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church in Hershey. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. in Hershey. Interment will follow in the Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to the VA Medical Center Hospice, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042.
