Devert, Sr. PALMYRA John Roy Devert, Sr., 63, passed away peacefully at The Good Samaritan Hospital on Thursday, December 24, 2009. He was born Saturday, November 16, 1946, in Lebanon, to the late Charles J. and Alberta (Lee) Devert. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and was a mechanic and longtime owner of an automotive repair garage. He was a member of the American Legion Post 265 in Hummelstown, Navy Club in Lebanon, Palmyra Sportsmen's Club, and North American Fishing Club. He loved his children and cherished spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by a daughter, Stacey A. Devert of Lebanon; a son, John R. Devert, Jr. and wife, Alisha of Palmyra; a grandson, Caiden R. Devert; a granddaughter, Alexis M. Devert; one brother, James C. Devert and wife, Susan of Rexmont; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, 17078. Family and friends are invited for a time of viewing on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of the service. Burial with full military honors will follow in Salem U.C.C. Cemetery, Campbelltown.
