Diener, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2009, at the Statesman Health Center in Levittown. She was the wife of the late Raymond L. Diener. Born in Fredericksburg, on October 30, 1924, she was the youngest child born to the late Charles and Lottie Stahl Bensing. She was a faithful member of the St. John's United Church of Christ, Fredericksburg. For many years she had worked for the U.S. Postal Service, and was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers Assoc. She was also a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #915 and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #9639. She was a member of the Senior Center of Lebanon, the Jonestown Perseverance Fire Co., the Jonestown American Legion, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She is survived by three grandchildren, Sharon, wife of Steve Taraschi of West Chester, John David Diener and his wife, Anna of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Susan Diener of Elizabethtown; daughter-in-law, Barbara Ruth Diener of Elizabethtown; five greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who also thought the world of her. She was preceded in death by her only son, Ray R. Diener; and brothers, William Bensing, Sr., C. Stanley, Russell, and Lester Bensing; sisters, Dorothy, Evelyn, Arlene, and Mary. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the St. John's United Church of Christ, Fredericksburg. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church, and the interment will be at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
