(Bill) GLENVILLE, N.Y. - William H. (Bill) Dotter, Sr., 88, of Glenville, died Tuesday at Ellis Hospital after many complications. Born in Milton,Pennsylvania, Bill grew up and was educated in Lebanon. He served in WWII with the 455th Bomb Squad, U.S. Air Force in Italy from 1942-45. For 26 years until his retirement in 1984, he worked for General Electric as marketing manager in the Engineered Cast Products Division in Schenectady and at various locations throughout the Northeast. He was predeceased by his parents, Lewis G. Dotter and Esther Nickle Dotter, his brother Robert, who was killed in WWII and his sister, Dolores Bertrand. Bill was a former member and past president of the Burnt Hills- Ballston Lake Rotary Club. He was a 32nd degree member of F and AM and several masonic fraternities both in Schenectady and the Pennsylvania area. He was an avid skiier and enjoyed taking trips to Gore Mountain. Bill was a member of the First Reformed Church of Schenectady. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elsie (Stohler) Dotter, his daughter, Diane (Maurice) Robbins of Burnt Hills, NY; his son, William H. Dotter, Jr. (Toni) of Cary, NC; four grandchildren, Jennifer Robbins Magruder of Salem, VA, Amy Robbins of Augusta, ME, Curt Robbins of Reno, NV and Andrew Dotter of Cary, NC; two great grandsons, Brendan and Connor Magruder, and one great granddaughter expected any hour. Funeral services with honors will be held Monday June 15, 2009 at 10 AM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Indiantown Gap Rd. Annville, PA. There will be no calling hours by request. Memorial contributions may be made in Bill's name to the American Heart Association or to Ellis Hospital Foundation. Arrangements by Glenville Funeral Home of Scotia-Glenville.
