Clarence P. Dundore, 79, of Ephrata entered into rest at Lebanon VA Hospital, Lebanon, on Thursday, April 16, 2009. He was born in Cornwall, Lebanon County, a son of the late Joel and Susan Bucher Dundore. He was married for 14 years to Vera Campbell Dundore and was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertha Jane McCandless Dundore, in 1964, and his second wife, Rebecca Fry Dundore, in 1991. Clarence served in the United States Army during the Koren War, worked for Wilbur Chocolate, retiring in 1994, and part time at Weis Markets for 14 years, retiring in 2008. He enjoyed sports, especially watching the Phillies and Eagles, and bowling and bingo. Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Betty Jean, wife of Stanley J. Wert Jr. of Ephrata, and Donald Wayne, husband of Cindye Moyer Dundore of Ephrata; 14 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren; stepchildren, Barbara A., wife of Ronald Achey of Lititz, David A., husband of Geli Detwiler of Butler, and Pamela, wife of David Amand of Schaefferstown; a brother, Mark Dundore of Lancaster, sisters, Joan, wife of Sterling Carpenter of Cornwall, and Lucille Devitz of Lebanon, and a brother, Ralph Dundore of Elizabeth City, N.C. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Dundore. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Church Street, Brownstown, followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. with Pastor Harry Kaufhold officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Red Rose Honor Guard. Arrangements by Stradling Funeral Homes, Akron/Ephrata.
