Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of Ralph N. Earp Jr. Carol and Ralph shared a beautiful love affair that spanned 50 years, beginning as college sweethearts and resulting in 48 years of a storybook marriage. Truly partners, their greatest happiness was when they could be together, which was most of the time. She was born March 31, 1940, in Lebanon, daughter of the late Allen A. and Thelma Whittle Felty. She was an active member of the Moravian Church, where she planned and implemented the Sunday School program, served on the Moravian Days Planning Committee, the Easter Fun Fair, and the Young at Heart. From early spring to late fall, Carol could be seen working in her LARGE garden. A front page cover story in the Lebanon Daily News a few years back referenced her garden in the 100 block of Poplar Street as "one of Lebanon's finest." Carol graduated from South Lebanon High School in 1958 and Lebanon Valley College in 1962, where she was a Homecoming Queen and academic honor student. She taught first grade in the Cornwall Lebanon District at the Iona building for more than 30 years and retired in 1996. She was a highly respected teacher who truly loved teaching and watching her students grow. She was active with the Friends of Stoever's Dam, where she planted flowers around the grounds. Surviving in addition to her husband are children Douglas N. Earp of Lebanon, Marc Earp of Nashville, Tennessee, and Betsy Kreider of Bethel; several grandchildren; brother Dr. Jay A. Felty of Lebanon; and her pet chicken, Rosie. She was preceded in death by sister Joyce Felty. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, 2009, from 1-2 p.m. at the Moravian Church, 1115 Birch Road, Lebanon, followed by services at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Moravian Cemetery. Memorials can be sent to her church. Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 6/6/2009 This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/ File size: 2.5 Kb
