  Miriam R. Engle, 85, formerly of W. Main Street and Shadow Stone, Palmyra died 
  Wednesday May 20, 2009 in the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra. She was 
  the wife of the late William Watson Engle who died in 2004. Born in Lebanon on 
  June 17, 1923, she was the daughter of the late William and Carrie Smith 
  Brandt. Miriam was a member of the First Evangelical Congregational Church, 
  Palmyra where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and was a member of the 
  Ladies Aid Society. She also bowled in the Thursday Night Mixed League at the 
  Palmyra Lanes, loved to crochet, and enjoyed spending time with her 
  grandchildren. Surviving is a son Fred husband of Mary Engle of Palmyra, four 
  daughters Dianne wife of Alfred Arnold of Lebanon, Susan wife of Larry Byrd of 
  Palmyra, Kathy wife of Terry Dove of Palmyra, and Sarah wife of Gregory Graupp 
  of Myerstown, seventeen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren. She 
  was preceded in death by two brothers Samuel and William Brandt and four 
  sisters Pauline Patches, Dorothy Long, June Gassert, and Henrietta Kuntz. 
  Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM from the Kreamer Funeral 
  Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville. Interment will be in Grand 
  View Memorial Park. Viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6-8 PM and also 
  on Saturday from 1-2 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions 
  may be made to the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra, PA 
  17078 or the Alzheimer's Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, 
  Harrisburg, PA 17110.
