  James E. Ensminger NEWPORT, RI James Edward Ensminger, 59, of 428 Gibbs Ave., 
  Newport, died Thursday, September 17, 2009, at Mass General Hospital, Boston, 
  Mass. He was the husband of the late Phyllis Marie (Martel) Ensminger. Born in 
  Hershey, on July 10, 1950, he was the son of the late John and Ethel (Light) 
  Ensminger, Sr. James was a 1968 graduate of Annville-Cleona High School and a 
  1972 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. 
  Peace Corps for two years in Iran. In 1981, he returned to school to pursue his 
  interest in ocean sciences. He completed a B.S. from Florida Institute of 
  Technology, an M.S. in Ocean Engineering from the University of Rhode Island in 
  1989, as well as an M.S. in Computer Science from URI in 1992. He worked for 
  the U.S. Navy for over 25 years in submarine service. James was a member of Phi 
  Sigma Kappa. He is survived by two brothers, Ronald N. Ensminger of Lebanon and 
  John E. Ensminger, Jr. of Ephrata; two sisters, Barbara A., wife of Richard 
  Carmichael of Lebanon, and Susan M., wife of Michael Deiling of Hummelstown; 
  and 10 nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday 
  at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment 
  will be held at the convenience of the family in Grand View Memorial Park. 
  Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Lebanon County Unit, 
  P.O. Box 1274, Lebanon, PA 17042.
