  George A. Evans PALMYRA George Alfred Evans, 84, died at his home in Palmyra, 
  Wednesday, December 9, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Windle Evans. 
  He was born in Palmyra, on October 24, 1925, and was a member of the First 
  United Methodist Church, Palmyra, the American Legion, and VFW Post 6076. Evans 
  was a World War II veteran, serving four years in the U.S. Navy. He began his 
  career working at Olmsted Air Force Base and retired from the auto sales 
  industry in 1989. George loved spending time with family and his many friends. 
  He was a well-known expert in toy train restoration and an avid participant in 
  regional toy train shows which was his lifelong hobby and passion. Surviving, 
  in addition to his wife, are daughter, Jill, wife of Dr. John Kryston of 
  Shavertown; daughter, Jan, wife of Udo Koehler, Medina, Ohio; stepson, Richard 
  Lear of Kutztown; grandchildren, Courtney, Brook, and Joshua Kryston, Nigel, 
  Owen, and Ava Koehler, Richard Lear, and Lynnette Lear Buchan; three great-
  grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, 
  Jody Evans, and son, Jack Evans. A memorial service will be held on Monday, 
  December 21, at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the First 
  United Methodist Church, Palmyra. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be 
  made to the First United Methodist Church, 520 E. Birch St., Palmyra, PA 17078; 
  or Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, 710 S. White Oak St., Annville, PA 
  17003.
