  Joanne M. Fies NEWMANSTOWN Joanne Marie Fies, 71, died Saturday October 31, 
  2009, in the Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of James A. Fies. Born in 
  Palmyra on July 10, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Russell and 
  Elizabeth Frazier Kaley. She was a retired Director of Patient Financial 
  Services for the Good Samaritan Hospital. She was a 1956 graduate of Lebanon 
  Catholic High School and a member of The Church of St. Cecilia. She was a 
  member of and former President of the Lebanon Mrs. Jaycees and was a member of 
  the Lebanon Quilters Guild. She enjoyed quilting, reading, music and playing 
  the organ. Surviving in addition to her husband James, are three children, 
  Kathleen E., wife of Joseph G. Barry of Newmanstown, James M., husband of, Mary 
  Jo Fies of Schaefferstown and Suzanne M., wife of David A. Papson of Lebanon; 
  six grandchildren, Joshua P. Marinkov, Justin D. Marinkov, Andrew R. Fies, 
  James M. Fies Jr., Matthew R. Fies and Alexis M. Papson; two brothers, Thomas 
  M. Kaley of Lebanon, David W. Kaley of Lebanon; one sister;, Patricia Kaley-
  Oreskovich of Annville; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death 
  by a son, Pfc. David J. Fies. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from The 
  Church of St. Cecilia, 202 E. Lehman St. Lebanon, 17046. Interment on Holy 
  Cross Cemetery. Viewing hours Tuesday evening 6 to 8 p.m. at Thompson Funeral 
  Home, Inc., 126 S. 9th St., and Wednesday morning 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. 
  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research 
  Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
