She was the wife of the late Edward A. Folmer, CPA. Born in Lebanon on October 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and May Sattazahn Kirst but lived with Heumer and Charlotte Shepp. She was a member of Hebron's United Methodist Church. She graduated from Lebanon High School with the class of 1943 and had played saxophone in the band. Dorothy was a Past President of Mrs. Jaycees, chaired 4 Booths for the G.S. Hospital Street Fair: sandwich, country store, delicatessen and take out chicken bar-b-que. She was Executive Secretary and Treasurer of Valley Beach Club for 20 years, and one of the founders of Pershing Ave. Playground. She made and prepared food at the Mt. Gretna Men's Club for the Men's and Women's Tennis Tournaments for twenty years, arranged bus trips to the U.S. Tennis Open in N.Y., and was an avid volley ball, tennis and bridge player. She was awarded lifetime membership to Mt. Gretna Men's Club, YMCA and Lebanon County Tennis Association. She received an award by the Lebanon School District for obtaining free tennis racquets and lessons for all grades, and worked 21 years at the 8th Ward election poll. She co-author a cookbook 'Generation 2006', made collectable and hand painted old buildings of Mt. Gretna and Lebanon, and donated 3 pavilions, trees at the ball diamond and 2 tennis courts in Coleman Park. She paid to help save the Swiss Barn in Schaefferstown, and was a member of Eastern Star Chapter No. 115, Lebanon. She is survived by children, Susan Anne Folmer, Lebanon and Andrew J. CPA, husband of Audrey Folmer, Boiling Springs; seven grandchildren; and one great- grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Edward A. Folmer, Jr.; and a sister, June Kirst. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Hebron U.M. Church, 5th Ave. and E. Walnut Sts., Lebanon. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. with an Eastern Star service at 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to American Cancer Society, 526 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042.
