Irwin H. Frantz Irwin H. Frantz, 96, of Bethel Twp., died July 11th, 2009 of natural causes at his residence. He was the widower of the late Naomi B. (Heisey) Frantz, to whom he had been married for 57 years. Born in Rehrersburg on April 24, 1913, he was the son of the late Elias M. and Ada (Hoffer) Frantz. His most recent job was with U.G.I. in Reading for 27 years last working in 1975. He and his wife also owned and operated a Dairy Farm in Bethel Township. He had earlier worked in saw milling and highway construction. He was the oldest member of Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, being active with the cemetery committee and the historical committee. With his wife he was active in the Blue Mountain Fifty Plus Club and the Bethel Township Crime Watch. He was a member of the Hart-Parr/Oliver Collectors Association of America. He is survived by three daughters, Esther F. wife of Lester Boleyn, Hagerstown, MD; Barbara L. wife of Wilhelm Kalke, Westfield, PA and Dorothy A. wife of John Dix, Lancaster; two sons, Galen E. Frantz husband of Nancy (Bender), Lebanon and Richard E. Frantz husband of Beatrice (Ulrich), Richland; one brother Victor Frantz, Texas. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and several step-great and great great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 2:00pm at Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, 31 Rehrersburg Rd., PO Box 437, Bethel, PA 19507. Burial in the Little Swatara Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00pm at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Swatara Church of the Brethren at the above address. Hill Funeral Home, Rehrersburg is handling arrangements.
