Freisen HERSHEY Terrence "Terry" George Freisen, 72, died Thursday, September 3, 2009, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. As a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey, he served as an Extraordinary Minister and as a member of Parish Council. Other memberships included St. Patrick's Church in Mount Dora, Fla., and Hershey Country Club. Terry's career began with the Hershey Chocolate Co. as a salesman in 1960. He moved his family to Hershey in 1969 to continue his career, which included honors as a Dean of the Confectionary Institute while serving as Director of Trade Development. He retired from Hershey Foods in 1996. The game of golf was a source of many wonderful friendships for Terry, and as a rule, he never golfed alone. Inspired as a child by his Uncle "Babe", Terry loved to play the trombone and this musical talent enabled his service in the U.S. Army Band. Known lovingly as "PaPa" to his grandchildren, he remembered each family birthday with an early morning phone call playing 'Happy Birthday'. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Ellen (Lally) Freisen; a son, Timothy P. Freisen and his children, Kirsten, Cameron, and Kendall of Northville, Mich.; daughter, Kathleen M. Freisen of Pennington, N.J.; daughter, Kerry E. Lively and her husband, Henri, and their children, Molly, Ian and Emma, of Annville; a brother, Timothy E. Freisen of Lahnstein, Germany, and his wife, Christa, daughter, Johanna, son, Tim Ronchi of Australia; and numerous cousins. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edna (Donahue) Freisen; stepfather, William Schumacher; and beloved daughter-inlaw, Theresa Freisen, wife of son, Tim. A visitation will be held Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Route 422 and Lucy Ave., Hershey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey. A private interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to St. Joan of Arc Church, Heart of the Parish Fund, 359 W. Areba Ave., Hershey, PA 17033.
