Fry, Sr., 93, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 11, 2009. He was the husband of the late Helen R. Corrado Fry, to whom he was married 49 years. Born in Annville, on July 2, 1916, he was the son of the late John B. and Martha B. Shiffer Fry. He was an auctioneer and owner of Fry's Furniture, Rt. 934, Annville, for 49 years, retiring in 1999. Lester was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of WWII and was on Iwo Jima while the famous flag raising took place. He was a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ, Annville, and the Annville American Legion Post 559. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, and Penn State Fan. Lester was a 1935 graduate of Annville High School. Surviving are a son, Lester S. Fry, Jr. and wife, Valarie of West Chester; a daughter, Joan M. Fry of Annville; five grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Eden Fry and wife, Rosemary of Palmyra, and Carl Fry and wife, Joanne of Dover; and a sister, Claribel Gingrich of Annville. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 17, from Christ Church United Church of Christ, 200 S. White Oak St., Annville. Interment will be held in Mt. Annville Cemetery with military honors. There will be no viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to GSH Hospice, P.O. Box 1281, Lebanon, PA 17042. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville, is in charge of arrangements.
