  Alexander H. Gerhart, 90, a longtime Ephrata resident, died on Saturday, 
  January 3, 2009 at Pleasant View Retirement Community in Manheim. He was the 
  widower of the late Kathryn M. Gerhart and the son of the late Alexander L. and 
  Susan Henly Gerhart. He is survived by two sons: A. David Gerhart, companion of 
  Ruth A. Kline of Akron and Jeffrey W. Gerhart, husband of Linda A. Gerhart of 
  Wyomissing; two granddaughters and 2 great-granddaughters. Mr. Gerhart was a 
  member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ephrata. He worked with his father as 
  a general contractor until 1962. He later worked for New Holland Custom 
  Millwork until retiring in 1983. Friends will be received at Gravenor Home For 
  Funerals, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata, PA from 79 p.m. on Thursday, January 8th 
  and at Holy Trinity, 167 E. Main St., Ephrata, PA from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, 
  January 9th. Funeral services will follow Friday's viewing at 11 a.m. at Holy 
  Trinity with the Rev. Henry E. Herbener officiating. Interment will be in 
  Mellingers Cemetery, Schoeneck, PA. Memorial donations may be directed to the 
  American Cancer Society, 314 Good Dr., Lancaster, PA 17603.
