  John K. Gerhart MT. AETNA John K. Gerhart, 80, died Thursday, October 8, 2009, 
  at his residence. He was the husband of Arlene G. (Showers) Gerhart, to whom he 
  was married 56 years on July 4, 2009. Born in Waldeck, on July 7, 1929, he was 
  the son of the late Benjamin and Ada (Hollinger) Gerhart. He served in the U.S. 
  Army during the Korean War. He had been employed as a truck driver for Carlos 
  R. Leffler, Inc., Richland, for 30 years, retiring in 1995. Mr. Gerhart was a 
  member of Tulpehocken U.C.C., Richland, Mt. Aetna Fire Co., and Blue Mt. 50 
  Plus Club, Bethel. He enjoyed camping and fishing. In addition to his wife, he 
  is survived by a son, Rick L., husband of Deborah Gerhart of Jacksonville, 
  Fla.; grandson, Ricky L. Gerhart, Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; stepgranddaughter, 
  Sheila Wilson of Jacksonville, Fla.; step great-grandchildren, Brandon and 
  Hana; sisters, Alverta Keener of Womelsdorf, Minerva, wife of Harold Rice of 
  Wernersville, Earla Strause of Lebanon, Betty Volk of Lebanon, and Christine, 
  wife of Martin Bashore of Myerstown; and several nieces and nephews. He was 
  preceded in death by brothers, Victor, Earl, Raymond, and Ralph Gerhart; and a 
  sister, Anna Himmelberger. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 13, 
  2009, at 11 a.m. from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. 
  Viewing Tuesday at 10 am. Interment at Tulpehocken U.C.C. Cemetery, Richland. 
  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to GSH Hospice, P.O. Box 
  1281, Lebanon, PA 17042.
