  Gettle, Ellwood R. "Woody"   
   
  Ellwood R. "Woody" Gettle, 78, of 2177 State Route 72 North, Lebanon, died 
  Thursday, February 19, 2009, in his residence. He was the husband of Hilda M. 
  Sanger Gettle, to whom he was married to for 57 years. Born in Sand Hill on 
  October 31, 1930, he was the son of the late Frank W. and Gertrude Bunderman 
  Gettle. He was a toolmaker for Bethlehem Steel Corp., Lebanon, for 27 years. 
  Woody served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserves, was a 1948 graduate 
  of Lebanon High School, and an active member of Faith Baptist Church, Lebanon. 
  He loved the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving in 
  addition to his wife are two sons, Scott, husband of Mary Gettle of 
  Fredericksburg, and Steve, husband of Sandy Gettle of Jay, Maine; two 
  daughters, Sandra, wife of Steven Robertson of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Sheri, 
  wife of Dean Patrick of Annville; two brothers, Claude Gettle and George 
  Gettle, both of Lebanon, 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 
  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from the Kreamer and 
  Lum Funeral Home and Crematory, 5 Campmeeting Road, Jonestown. Interment will 
  be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with military honors. Viewing will 
  be held on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m., and also on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 
  a.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to 
  Faith Baptist Church, 220 S. 22nd Street, Lebanon, PA 17042.
