Greenly, 78, of 1545 South Colebrook Road, died peacefully at home in her sleep on Monday, September 21, 2009. She was the wife of David F. Greenly. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in April of this year. Born in Cocalico, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Irene Knosp Snader. She delivered newspapers for over 30 years for Lancaster Newspaper, Inc. and the Lebanon Daily News. Ruth was a member of East Petersburg Mennonite Church where she enjoyed crocheting and was active with the Prayer Shawl Ministry. She and her husband were faithful, active seasonal campers at Camp Swatara, where she helped with bake sales at the camp. Ruth volunteered at the Mount Joy Gift & Thrift. She was known for her winter gardens, which she gave to her friends. She was very special to her children and grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three daughters, Ruth Ann, wife of Vernon B. Metzler of East Petersburg, and Mary Lou, wife of Anthony A. Raniero, and Cynthia S. Mobley, both of Mt. Joy; four sons, David F. Jr., husband of Catherine L. Garner Greenly, and John R. Greenly, both of Manheim, Charles R. Greenly of Tamaqua, and Scott L., husband of Barbara A. Baer Greenly of Mount Joy; 12 grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and two brothers, Raymond, husband of Edna Snader of Ephrata, and Luke, husband of Elizabeth Snader of Reinholds. She was also survived by her companion dog, Precious. She was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Daniel, Aaron, Robert Snader; and two sisters, Mary Snader and Anna Sensenig. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service from the East Petersburg Mennonite Church, 6279 Main St., East Petersburg, on Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the church on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at the church on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Please omit flowers.
