"Dolly" Gibson, 87, went home to the Lord on Saturday, December 26, 2009, in Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. Born on May 16, 1922, in Hummelstown, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Sarah Snavely Straub. In 1940 she graduated from the Swatara Twp. School in Dauphin County. Lillian worked as a secretary, a retail sales lady, and at the Hershey chocolate Factory. She was a member of the East Hanover Church of God, where she had been the pianist for over 20 years. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Diane Irene Gibson; a son, Kenneth Gibson, Sr.; one great-grandchild, Brett Gibson, a brother, Richard Straub, a sister, Ruth Lenker; two stepsisters, Edie Fisher and Helen Keesey; and her step mother, Helen Straub. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Lester H. Gibson; one daughter, Patricia, wife of Dave Edwards of Lebanon; one son, Ronald and wife, Kitty Gibson of Minersville; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; one sister, Pauline Gassert of Pine Grove; and one brother, Joseph Hawk of Hershey. Funeral services will be held at H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Richard Borger officiating. There will be a viewing on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. The family would prefer in lieu of flowers, donations be given to the East Hanover Church of God, P.O. Box 399, 10504 Martin Road, Grantville, PA 17028, in her memory.
