  Halk, Elmer A.   
   
  Elmer A. Halk, age 86, of 722 Belair Road, Hershey, died Wednesday, January 21, 
  2009, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Erla Shifler 
  Halk. He was born on January 16, 1923, in Mapleton Depot, Pa., to David and 
  Beatrice Brumbaugh Halk. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret 
  Glasglow Halk, who died October 2, 1979. He was employed many years ago for the 
  Pennsylvania Railroad for 18 years. He then was employed for 28 years at the 
  Milton Hershey School as a house parent, until his retirement. He is a member 
  of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown, and the Elizabethtown 
  Senior Citizens. Surviving him in addition to his wife, Erla, are his son, 
  Douglas C. Halk, and his wife, Shirley of Grantville; a granddaughter, Jennifer 
  Halk of Linglestown; and a brother, David Halk of Mt. Union, Pa. His brother, 
  Harry, preceded him in death. Relatives and friends are invited for a time of 
  viewing on Monday, January 26, 2009, from 9:30-10:30 at the Rothermel Funeral 
  Home Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, followed by his funeral at 10:30 with the 
  Rev. Skip Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Hershey Cemetery. In 
  lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Four Diamonds Fund, 
  c/o M.S. Hershey Medical Center University Development, PO Box 850, Hershey, PA 
  17033.
