  Ammon H. Hammer, 82, of 53 East Main St., Newmanstown, died Thursday, June 4, 
  2009, in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of Sherry J. 
  Keppley Hammer to whom he was married for 34 years. He was born October 18, 
  1926, in Lancaster County, a son of the late Irvin and Helen Houtz Hammer. He 
  was a retired 28 year employee of Manheim Asbestos, and he served in the United 
  States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Richland American 
  Legion, Jonestown Fire Co., Mt. Aetna Fire Co. and R Field and Stream, Lebanon, 
  and a life member of the Myerstown VFW and Ephrata VFW. Surviving in addition 
  to his wife are children, Judy, wife of Ronald Wenrich, and Patricia, wife of 
  Andy Glass, both of Ephrata; John, husband of Daphine Hammer, Schoeneck; 
  stepsons, Richard Randler Jr. and wife Deanne, Robert Randler and wife Robin, 
  both of Richland, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 5 step-
  grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; sisters, Mary, wife of Marlin Gockley, 
  Irene, wife of James Eshleman and Mildred Gropher, all of Lititz; Sally Hammer, 
  Reading; and brothers, John Hammer, Reading; Jack Hammer, Ephrata; Bobby 
  Hammer, Denver. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. 
  Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Clauser Funeral Home, 
  N. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown, with a viewing beginning on Tuesday at 10:00 
  a.m. Interment will be made in the Schaefferstown Cemetery.
