  Arthur McGhee Heffner SPANG CREST MANOR Arthur McGhee Heffner, 90, formerly of 
  Willows Apartment and Ono, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at the 
  home. He was the wife of Mary Harris Heffner with whom he married on Oct. 26, 
  1967 in Verdi, Nev. and passed away on June 24, 1992, and Ruth Jamison Heffner 
  of Woodstock, Va. Born in Elizabeth City, Va., June 1, 1919, he was the son of 
  the late Arthur M. and Elizabeth Crockett Heffner, and he was the last of his 
  immediate family. He retired from the Reno Nevada School Systems on May 1, 
  1981. He was a member of the US Army during WWII, serving from May 1941 to 
  January 1946. Surviving are three stepdaughters, Mary Katherine, wife of Lester 
  Stanford of Burke, Va., Ann, wife of Doug Denson of Jonestown and Margaret 
  Stephens of Fairfax, Va. He was a loving grandfather to his seven step-
  grandchildren, 16 stepgreat-grandchildren, and five step-great-
  greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two step-
  greatgrandchildren, Zachary on August 24, 1995 and Joshua Sanger September 12, 
  2008. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, at 10 a.m. at the Kreamer & 
  Lum Funeral Home, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd., Jonestown. Viewing will be one 
  hour prior to the service at the funeral home and the interment will be at the 
  Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
