Evelyn E. Heisey, 79, formerly of Annville, died Thursday, April 30, 2009, in the Palmyra Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late J. Sterling Heisey, and her first husband was the late Clair M. Goodman Sr. Born in Annville on June 24, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ella Bohr Fasnacht. She worked as a nurses aide at the former United Church of Christ Home, Annville, and prior to that worked at the H.B. Reese Candy Co., Hershey. She was a member of the Annville United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Merry Hearts Sunday School Class and the Church Choir; a member of the Water Works and Annville Union Hose Fire Co. Auxiliaries; and the Patriotic Order of America. Evelyn was known for her angelic voice and sang at many church weddings and blessed many people with her songs of hymns and praise. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia wife of Karl Beardsley of New Cumberland, and Sally wife of George Carl of Annville; two step-daughters, Marian Beavers of Henderson, Nevada and Geraldine McConaghie of Roanoke, VA; a sister, Joan wife of William Speraw of Annville; 2 grandchildren; 1 greatgrandchild; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Clair "Rusty" Goodman Jr., a stepson Edwin Heisey, a stepdaughter Mildred Campbell, five brothers, Richard, Harold, Charles, Clayton and Robert, and five sisters, Anna, Violet, Margaret, Ruth Ann and Peggy. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville. Interment will be held in Mt. Annville Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday evening from 68 PM at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her church at Main and College Ave., Annville, PA 17003 or the Palmyra Nursing Home, 341 N. Railroad Street, Palmyra, PA 17078.
