Douglass C. Henry, 86, of Hershey died May 8, 2009 at home. He was born on October 31, 1922 in Rochester, NY, and would have been married to his wife, Marty for 63 years on may 25th, 2009. Doug moved to Hershey in 1934 and graduated from Hershey High School. He attended Hershey Junior College prior to enlisting in the service. Doug was a founding partner of Lebanon Valley Paper Co, and was the founder of Henry Molded Products 23 years prior to his retirement in 1987. Doug was known for his ready good humor and strong, quiet support of many charities and causes, including the Lebanon Rotary Club and the Boy Scouts of America. Doug was a WWII Army veteran and a 60 year member of the Hershey American Legion. He was a past member of the Derry Township Board of Supervisors, a founding member of the Hershey Toastmasters and a founding member of the Hershey Curling Club; a former director of the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce, a member of the PA Chamber of Commerce, PA Nursery Association, National Federation of Independent Businessmen and the American Nursery and Landscaping Association. He was a 50 year member of the Hershey Country Club, and a member of Derry Presbyterian Church for 70 years. In addition to his wife Marty, Doug is survived by daughter Connie and husband Dave Szczesny of Hershey, son Douglass Jr and wife Judy of Newmanstown, son Scott of Theodosia, MO, and 3 grandchildren: Miranda and Aneshka Szczesny (Hershey) and Russell Henry (Florida). He was preceded in death by his sister Peg, brother George, mother Margaret and father George. Memorial services will be held at Derry Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM Wednesday May 13. A luncheon reception will be held immediately following. All are invited to attend, and to share their favorite memory of Doug with the family. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Derry Presbyterian Church, 248 E. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. of Hershey.
