  Lloyd E. Hernley JONESTOWN Lloyd E. 'Uncle' Hernley, 94, passed away on Sunday, 
  August 23, 2009, after a brief illness at home. He was the husband of the late 
  Violet L. Ditzler Hernley. Born in Lebanon, on July 25, 1915, he was the son of 
  the late Phares and Katie Bordner Hernley. He retired from Quaker Alloy, where 
  he last worked as a blade gauger. He was a member of the Trinity United 
  Methodist Church of Lickdale, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, 
  trapping, and gardening. He had no children but for a period of time, he helped 
  raise his wife's sister, Dorothy M., wife of Paul Hoover of Richland, and later 
  his wife's niece, Barbara A., wife of Robert L. Manning of Lebanon. He is 
  survived by several sister-in-laws, brothers-inlaw, nieces, nephews, 
  greatnieces and nephews, greatgreat-nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was 
  preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth 'Pete', Leroy, Lester and 
  Marvin 'Motz' Hernley. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the 
  Trinity United Methodist Church, 98 Fisher Ave., Jonestown. Viewing will be one 
  hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 
  Fredericksburg. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or to the GSH-
  Hospice, 202 Hathaway Park, Lebanon, PA 17042. Arrangements are in the care of 
  the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown.
