"Johnny" Harrison B. "Johnny" Hinks, 87, Lebanon, died Thursday, May 14, 2009, in his residence. He was the husband of the late Edith E. Hinks. He was born in Shenandoah, Schuylkill County, on June 1, 1921, a son of the late Thomas James and Ida Irene Baylor Hinks. He was a retired welder for General Electric with over 40 years of service. He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a double Purple Heart recipient and also received the Asian- Pacific Theatre Service Medal with three bronze stars. He was a life member of the Lebanon VFW Post 23, Lickdale American Legion Post 910, Friendship Fire Co. and R Field & Stream. He loved to hunt, fish at the shore, go camping and garden. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. He is survived by children, Brenda, wife of Dennis Wolfe, Lebanon; Judith Bashore, Lebanon; Charles Hinks, Lebanon; Debra Hinks and companion Robert Gardner, Lebanon; Cheryl Brewer, Lebanon; and Wendy, wife of Robert Garrett Jr., Lebanon; 13 grandchildren; 8 great- grandchildren; brothers, Alvin Hinks, Lebanon; and Thomas Hinks, MA; sisters, Lorraine Price, Lebanon; and Jeanette Kamaster, Lebanon; also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Raymond, Joseph and Charles Hinks and sisters, Dorothy Stoudt, Margaret Spath and Joan Dissinger. Funeral services will be Monday 8:00 p.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 5th & Cumberland Sts., Lebanon. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 p.m. to the time of service in the funeral home, and Tuesday from 8 to 9 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be made Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
