Hirneisen, 71, of 512 Canal St., died Friday, November 13, 2009, in the Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Betty L. Schauer Hirneisen, with whom he celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary this past September. Born in Hopeland, on March 9, 1938, he was the son of the late Earl and Blanche Reedy Hirneisen. He worked for 42 years at Binner Mills, Schaefferstown, as Head Mechanic and Plant Manager. He then was employed at Sears, Lebanon, and drove bus for Colt. Robert was a U.S. Marine Corps Reservist and a 1956 graduate of Ephrata High School. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lebanon, a member of Mt. Olivet Lodge #704, F. & A.M., where he served as Master of the Lodge in 1989, and was a member of the Tall Cedars. He was a devoted family man, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and dog Coco, and was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Jeffrey L. Hirneisen of Bernville and Michael L. Hirneisen of Lebanon; a brother, Timothy L. Hirneisen of Berwick; and two grandsons, Joseph M. and Robert P. Hirneisen. Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. from Zion Lutheran Church, 28 N. Ninth St., Lebanon, PA 17046. Masonic Services and inurnment will be held in Millbach Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his church; or the Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N. Ramona Road, Myerstown, PA 17067. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville, is in charge of arrangements.
