Hostetter, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2009, in The Lebanon Valley Home. She was the widow of John A. Hostetter, who went to be with the Lord on September 24, 1986. She was born Sunday, July 29, 1928, in Harrisburg, to the late Harry S. and Louise E. (Frayer) Carroll. Mrs. Hostetter was a member of Palmyra First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her loving family reminiscing of fond days gone by. She retired from Briarcrest where she worked as a housekeeper. Mrs. Hostetter is survived by a son, John H. Hostetter and wife, Cynthia of Annville; a daughter, Susan L. Denlinger and husband, Thomas of Mountville; five grandchildren, Lisa M. Smith of Palmyra, Christopher J. Hostetter of Lancaster, Thomas L. Denlinger, Jr. of Manheim, Matthew L. Denlinger of Mountville, and Mindy S. Denlinger of Mountville; seven great- grandchildren; a brother, Samuel R. Carroll and wife, Joyce of Palmyra; a sister, Nancy Schott and husband, Jim of Palmyra. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Miller. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, with the Rev. Dr. David P. Harris officiating. Friends and family are invited for a time of viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and again on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Lebanon Valley Home, 550 E. Main St., Annville, PA 17003.
